Our Projects

Kincolith Fish Habitat Channel Restoration (2017)

GEL and Bear Creek partnered to restore a vital Chum salmon spawning habitat in Kincolith, BC. As prime contractor for this project, Bear Creek worked alongside client Nisga’a Fisheries and owner Nisga’a Lisims Government, in collaboration with Northwest Hydraulic Consultants and LGL Biologists.

The project involved grubbing, creek excavation, pond construction, and riprap installation, all managed to align with tidal cycles. Work was conducted with great care to reduce noise for nearby residents and protect the surrounding environment.

As sub-contractor on a $16.5M project for client Merrick Consulting and owner AlloyCorp Mining Inc. (Avanti), Bear Creek and GEL was responsible for early-stage development of the proposed molybdenum mine near Kitsault, BC.

Work included drilling, blasting, and constructing 4.5 km of coastal access road, processing 165,000 m³ of aggregate material, and managing 200,000+ m³ of overburden, while also operating within ecologically sensitive zones under strict environmental oversight. The project supported site prep for future camp facilities and plant construction.
